• The Polynesia Eastern Map Pack includes three separate maps: Cook Islands, Samoa, and Tahiti. The Cook Islands map covers Ma’Uke, Penrhyn Atoll, Palmerston Atoll, Suwarrow, Manihiki, Atiu, Mangaia, Aitutaki, Manuae / Takutea, Nassau, Mitiaro, and Rarotonga. This map is printed on one side and includes an inset map of Avarua Town. The legend includes all roads, tracks, ruins / archaeological sites, recreational areas, points of interest, viewpoints, accommodations. The Samoa map covers both Independent Samoa and the American territory of Samoa. Independent Samoa, formerly known as Western Samoa, consists of the islands of Savai'I and Upolu Islands (shown at 1:190,000 scale, along with an inset map of the capital, Apia). The American Samoan islands of Tutuila (1:80,000 scale), Ofu & Olosega (1:46,000 scale), and Ta'u (1:53,300), are shown along with an inset map of the town of Fagatogo, which serves as the capital. Samoa is east of Fiji, northeast of Tonga, and northwest of the Cook Islands. Printed single-sided, on paper. The Tahiti map covers Tahiti and the nearby Society Islands of Bora Bora, Moorea, Tahaa, and Raiatea. A detailed inset of Papeete, the capital, is also included. Tahiti forms part of the French overseas possessions and, as such, is part of the European Community. The island of Tahiti Nui is the most developed of the islands, and the map shows numerous dive sites and beaches. Most of the resorts are located close to Papeete and the airport, but each of the islands has resort accommodation shown. Bora Bora seems to be well-endowed with resorts. Again, this map is considerably less expensive than the 'other' map on the market and is much more oriented to the needs of travelers.
